We're back! TheHudson is a SOL community set along the scenic banks of the Hudson River. The villages of Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Irvington, and Dobbs Ferry form a tapestry of picturesque communities just a stone's throw away from the bustling energy of New York City. Each village boasts its own unique charm: the historic allure of Sleepy Hollow with its legendary tales; the vibrant atmosphere of Tarrytown; the cozy streets of Irvington, and; the riverside tranquility of Dobbs Ferry. Residents and visitors alike find themselves immersed in a blend of rich history, cultural vibrancy, and natural beauty, creating an inviting haven that captures the essence of both suburban serenity and urban convenience.

setting up!
Feel free to utilize both IC and OOC usernames; however, we recommend minimizing the use of excessive numbers, underscores, or letters. Please provide a biography of at least 200 words, including basic information about your character such as their full name, age, birthday, occupation, hometown, and more. Feel free to provide additional details beyond the minimum requirement if you'd like. we also ask you ensure both your ic and ooc posts are backdated.
activity requirements!
- Upon Acceptance: we ask you to post your intro post in ~ohintros within 72 hours and, once posted, that you reply to the majority of comments. To streamline the process, an introduction template will be provided for your convenience.
- To remain in community:
- we request one substantial post per activity period, which typically consists of a calendar month. This can take the form of narratives, multimedia posts, Instagram feeds that include more than one post, and other engaging content. However, if you opt to post something like a narrative or any other type of post with comments disabled, we kindly ask that you create an additional post with comments enabled. This can be either within your journal or in ~thegabshack.
- Please note you must reply to the majority of comments on your comment-enabled post for it to count towards activity.
- We also require your friends list be current when you drop-off your activity and regularly kept up to date throughout activity periods (within 2 rounds of adds)
- if you were added after the 20th day of the month (or within ten days of a set of removals) you are not required to submit activity beyond your introduction
hiatus & extensions!
we totally get how life can get pretty chaotic at times, and we completely understand if you need to take a hiatus or ask for activity extension. however, please keep in mind that if you're on hiatus, it means you're not actively commenting others. as for activity extensions, please be aware that they expire one week after being granted. while we're always here to assist by granting extensions, we may have to limit them for players who frequently request them.
removals & reapplying!
sometimes, things happen, and we might get removed even if we didnβt mean to. if you ended up affected by an activity removal, we just ask that you provide a form of activity when reapplying. we also periodically remove members due to outdated friends lists. in that case, simply reapply and update your friends list as soon as you're back in. please keep in mind, if youβre removed multiple times for inactivity or outdated friends lists, we may decide not to approve your reapplication.

we request that you either set all your posts to friends only or adjust your comment settings to friends only. This measure is aimed at minimizing anonymous harassment. Drama in RP is a natural element, and we embrace and encourage IC drama as long as it remains within the IC realm and is portrayed realistically. However, OOC drama is not welcomed. The fundamental rule of RP is to avoid crossing boundaries, a principle we trust everyone is aware of. In the event of OOC drama stemming from RP, we anticipate disputes to be resolved civilly between players. If self-resolution proves challenging, players are encouraged to reach out to the mods for assistance.
at this current time we will allow apps, but this is an extra and does not count towards activity. you are still required to be active on the friends page.
